The Scholar's Program
About This Video:
Meet Mutesi Noliene, a thirteen-year-old Children of Grace Scholar in her first year of secondary school. Noliene lost both her parents at a young age and now lives with two guardians who are of no blood relation. Her guardians originally brought Noliene into their home to work as a housekeeper, but when they saw her love for learning and potential to do well, they decided to help her go to school.
Unfortunately, one of her guardians was in a terrible car accident that left her unable to work. Without this income, they were no longer able to pay Noliene’s school fees, and her hope of going on to secondary school was lost.
When Noliene heard about Children of Grace’s Scholar’s Program, she immediately came to the office to apply. Her bright personality and genuine spirit were quickly apparent, and her desire to further her education and reach her dreams were undeniable. Noliene was granted a scholarship to attend Iganga Secondary School, one of the top girls schools in the region. She is currently in the top ten percent of her class. Upon completing her secondary education, Noliene hopes to study medicine. She dreams of one day using her career to care for orphaned children like herself.

The Story Of Grace
About This Video:
MaryAnn McCoy: "On my first trip to Africa in 2002, I met a lovely young Ugandan mother named Grace. Her husband had died of AIDS and consequently Grace was HIV positive. She struggled to provide for her two children and feared for their future after she died.
She asked, 'Who will pay their school fees? Who will provide food, clothing and health care? Who is going to take care of them and who is going to love them?'
Today, in memory of Grace, Children of Grace, provides hope, love, education and a future to hundreds of orphaned children affected by HIV/AIDS in Uganda. AIDS creates 6,000 orphans in a single day. Sponsor a child and make a difference in an orphaned childs life."
