Stewart Mukasa
October 20, 1996
It is very hard to imagine a small home with eleven orphans but that is exactly where Stewart Mukasa lives. His uncle has a tremendous heart but not much money. The uncle is a peasant farmer and works many long, hot hours in the garden to raise enough food to feed all who live under his roof and, hopefully, a little more to sell to earn money to keep his extended family together.
Stewart lost his father to HIV/AIDS in December of 2003 and he and his mother have been struggling ever since. He has been attending St Peter’s Primary School on the charity of the headmaster but your sponsorship will ensure that his education can continue.
Some afternoons you can find Stewart playing soccer with his friends and brothers or taking care of the younger children in the home. Your sponsorship will be an effective start at giving him a better chance out of this extreme poverty by providing him with an education.
