Safina Babirye

Safina Babirye has been attending school only sporadically because of lack of school fees. She is in the Primary 3 level at Magwa Primary School and really would be able to improve her performance by regular attendance.
Her father died of HIV/AIDS in 2000 and life has been hard for her mother with six orphans while her own health is failing as she tests positive for the virus. The home is only a temporary structure with a leaky roof. Feeding the family always comes first and money for school fees falls short.
Safina helps with the cooking and the care of the younger siblings. She enjoys stealing a little time for herself with a book.
Children of Grace has raised funds outside of sponsorship that will make it possible for Safina's mother to receive antiretrovirals for HIV/AIDS because of this sponsorship.
