Vincent Lukenge, Director of OperationsFaith Akona, Director of Child Welfare.

Children of Grace continues to play a leading role in providing education to children infected and orphaned by AIDS in Jinja, Uganda. As we strive to serve more than 600 sponsored children, improve healthcare, feed the hungry, upgrade living conditions and offer a variety of programs to support the villages in the Jinja area, our staff in Uganda is growing to meet these needs.

"Providing holistically for the individual sponsored child remains our number one priority," says Mary Ann McCoy, Executive Director. "By having our own office and personnel on the ground in Uganda, we can more efficiently and individually provide care for our sponsored children."

Lukenge, Vincent - Director of Operations brings valuable business expertise to Children of Grace in Uganda. He has worked for a number of years in sales and has owned and operated his own business. His business background is a real asset to Children of Grace and his leadership will help Children of Grace achieve its goals of providing love, hope, education and a future to orphaned children of HIV and AIDS.

Akona, Faith - serves as a Child Welfare Officer. Ms. Akona graduated with honors from Makerere University in Adult and Community Education. She has experience working within communities that are affected by HIV/AIDS. We are pleased to have her expertise in the child welfare office and she is committed to serving our children.

Batuwa, Mariah - recently joined Children of Grace as a Child Welfare Officer. Mariah graduated from Makerere University and has worked for the last two years with TASO (The AIDS Service Organization.) She brings many diversified skills to child welfare and her heart for orphaned children will be an added bonus.

Isiko, Titus - was recently hired as the Children of Grace Empowerment Officer. He is charged with helping child guardians to take a step out of poverty through micro-enterprise programs. Mr. Isiko is a recent graduate of Makere University – actually one of the first of our Children of Grace sponsored students to graduate from university! We feel he is uniquely qualified to work with guardians and students.

Children of Grace continues to make a difference to orphaned children affected by AIDS. One by one, children’s lives are being changed and hope is being offered.
